Now that 2023 is upon us, we will resume our attention on the Gospel of Matthew.

As a reminder, Jesus was Jewish, and a product of Jewish culture. Matthew wrote this gospel, originally, for the Jewish people, presenting Jesus as the Son of David, as well as, the Son of Abraham.

We have already seen that Matthew begins writing this Gospel by tracing Jesus’ genealogy back to King David. Matthew also connects many predictions about Jesus found in the Old Testament with events in the life of Jesus, many of which have already been fulfilled.

Let’s continue our exploration of this book of the Bible, The Gospel of Matthew, praying again, that God’s Holy Spirit will be our Guide as we read and discover fresh and new insights from His Holy Word.
