The Gospel of Matthew Chapter 11:25-30

At that time Jesus answered and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes.
26 “Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight.
27 “All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.
28 “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
30 “For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

New Beginnings: 2017

It has been one year, and more, since my last post.  Much has occurred during that time, the most significant of which was the lengthy illness, (and my involvement as one of the caregivers), followed by the homegoing of my dear sister just one year ago, on 12/31/15.  The grieving process has been just that….a process.  Yet, as one year of “firsts” is now over, I venture out and resume posting on this blog, GodsWordToUs.

As with most things in life, change is inevitable. I say “most” because of one exception:  GOD NEVER CHANGES, nor does HIS HOLY WORD.  For that I am most, most grateful!!  As I, now, resume sharing what God laid on my heart many years ago, I pray for wisdom, direction and guidance in proceeding on this journey, which I expect will include change, as well.  It is simply God and me, at this point in this venture, a partnership that stretches me in more ways than I realize, emphasizing my need, and the truth of John 15:5, “I am the vine, you are the branches.  He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for “without Me you can do nothing.” (NKJV) (Italics, mine). Truly it is a 99.99…% to …0.00* % partnership. (99.99…% God to ..0.00*% me.)

So, as I embark anew, I am reminded of a phrase by a former pastor of mine regarding his skiing success.  It went something like this:  Although my skill did not reflect much talent, I mastered getting up better than anyone else! 😊

Now, as I brush off my dusty knees, I would like to begin this new phase of the website, GodsWordToUs, by sharing a poem my sister was inspired to write during the early stages of her illness, four years ago.  She graciously gave me her permission, then, to share her poem, wanting to be “open to how the Lord would use it for His glory.”

My sister’s child-like faith, trust, and intimacy with Our Lord has been an inspiration to all of us, then, and now.  My prayer is that it will draw you closer to Him, as well.

Blessings to you.

Shadow of His Wings, (cont’d)

The heavens declare the glory of God.... Psalm 19:1

You are worthy, Lord
You are worthy, Lord
Of all praise, all glory, and all honor.
You are worthy, Lord
You are worthy, Lord
You are worthy to be adored.

For in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice
In the shadow of Your wings my soul is satisfied
In the shadow of Your wings I sing for joy
There my soul desires to follow close to You.

Shadow of His Wings

The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. Numbers 6:24-26

When the challenges of life seem overwhelming
When faced with overcoming drains my soul
It is there my burdened heart seeks out Your refuge
As I run beneath Your wings to be consoled.

For in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice
In the shadow of Your wings my soul is satisfied
In the shadow of Your wings I sing for joy
There my soul desires to follow close to You.
