One Small Child

One small Child in a land of a thousand
One small dream of a Savior tonight
One small hand reaching out to the starlight
One small Savior of Life

One king bringing his gold and riches
One king ruling an army of might
One king kneeling with incense and candlelight
One King bringing us life

See Him lying, a cradle beneath Him.
See Him smiling in the stall.
See His mother praising His Father.
See His tiny eyelids fall.

One great light that is breaking the darkness
One great love, that a message of hope
One great gift from the hand of the Father
One small Child for the world to know

See the shepherds kneeling before Him.
See the kings on bended knee.
See His mother praising the Father.
See the blessed Infant sleep.

One small Child in a land of thousand
One small dream of a Savior tonight
One small hand reaching out to the starlight
One small Savior of life

What Child is this Who lay to rest,
On Mary’s lap is sleeping?
Whom angels greet with anthem sweet,
While shepherds watch are keeping.

This this is Christ, the King,
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing:
Haste, haste to bring Him laud,
The Babe, the Son of Mary!

While lies He in such mean estate,
Where ox and ass are feeding?
Good Christians, fear; for sinners here
The silent Word is pleading.

This this is Christ, the King,
Whom shepherds watch and angels sing:
Haste, haste to bring Him laud,
The Babe, the Son of Mary!

So bring Him incense, gold, and myrrh,
Come rich and poor to own Him,
The King of kings salvation brings;
Let loving hearts enthrone Him.

This, this is Christ, the King,
Whom shepherds watch and angels sing:
Haste, haste to bring Him laud,
The Babe, the Son of Mary!
